If you have the knowlege or experience in any of the subjects listed below or you wish to start a new workshop then please leave your email, course title/content, experience, weather you wish to teach intermediet or advanced etc. If you can add this information to the bottom of this page so that people wishing to attend can add their contact details, we will get back to you.

Present

Software

Weekly, every saturday, from 12 noon:

  • Office Software introduction to Open Office (http://www.openoffice.org/product/docs/OOoFlyer11.pdf), an alternative to Microsoft Office.
  • Video

Video miscellanea.

  • Audio editing

An introduction to audio editing using Audacity (http://audacity.sourceforge.net/).

  • Image manipulation

An introduction to photo editing using GIMP (http://www.gimp.org/screenshots/).

  • Basic reporting

An introduction on how to write articles and features, eg for Indymedia (http://www.indymedia.org.uk/).

  • Basic web page making

An introduction to HTML using Mozilla Composer (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Mozilla_Composer) and text-based html,

Wireless

  • Establishing a node at the Freedom Hacklab
  • Introduction to NoCatSplash, the 'captive portal' which lets you put up a splash screen which all node users will see as their first web request.
  • Peering agreements, to carry traffic between interested parties (e.g. freedom, rampart, mute) on a 'micro-social-contract' basis - cf http://www.picopeer.net/
  • random technical stuff including setting up a node, installing NoCat etc...

  • DIY Wifi antennas - ben at rampART has done a little bit on this and is happy to share.

Radio

  • Streaming - There is an internet radio station based at the rampART and regular weekly workshops on editing, mixing and studio related issues.
  • Broadcast - Anyone interested in pirate radio is welcome to contact piratehamster@hushmail.com for workshops on buying, building and operating radio broadcast equipment.

Future

GNU/Linux or *BSD installation

Linux in foreign languages for foreign language speaking activists: Bahasa Indonesian, French, ... Proposal to hold one over a September weekend.
